The PM said, “Local administration and investors should take the locals into confidence.”He also expressed concern over the obstruction by locals to large scale projects. He further said that all should work together for development and prosperity as the new Constitution has already been promulgated through the Constituent Assembly.
At the programme, Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi said the government had shortened the environmental impact assessment in order to expedite the development projects, and emphasised that bureaucracy must be social relations-oriented and development-friendly.
Investment Board Nepal CEO Radhesh Pant expressed the view that the local administration must work towards creating a feeling of ownership towards development projects among the people of the project-affected area.
Executive Director of Staff College Punya Prasad Neupane said the training would help make the local staff responsible and accountable.
