Thus, it isn’t just the first passenger electric plane But also the world’s first electric passenger plane that received an airworthiness certificate.
The electric plane, RX1E Ruixiang, designed by Shenyang Aerospace University and Liaoning general aviation academy in the northeastern Liaoning Province, received its airworthiness certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
The RX1E Ruixiang has a 14.5 meter wingspan and a maximum payload of 230 kg. It can fly at an altitude of 3,000 meters. The RX1E maximizes its range with the use of lightweight carbon fiber, and its battery charges in about 1½ hours. The charging is completed within two hours, allowing a flight time of 45 minutes to one hour, at a maximum speed of 160 km per hour.
The number of order have made to at least 28 for the RX1E Ruixiang to the date.The first two airplanes were delivered to Liaoning Ruixiang General Aviation Co. on Thursday, which will be use for flight training.There are lots of potential uses for such a plane such as tourism, meteorology, and (reportedly) rescue operations.
