Lawmaker Lyarkal Lama has been arrested with 14 rounds of bullets on Sunday. He was arrest after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) discovered bullets from his Nepal Investment Bank locker in Durbarmarg during of its investigation. Lama has handed over to the police office in Durbarmarg for further examination. Lama, who has been accused of having a Nepali and Indian passport, a Tibetan refugee card and citizenship certificate from various districts of Nepal, was former CA member from the CPN-UML. Lama was a State Finance Minister during Jhala Nath Khanal’s tenure as prime minister but had to resign from his state minister post following controversy over his citizenship certificate. He then quit UML and joined UCPN (Maoist) where he was appointed as lawmaker despite some strong reservations from within the party.
